Your Morning Sift

Good morning.

Happy Hump Day, readers. I have the June Post of the Month selection for you today and and some other stuff I'm sure you'll enjoy. Lets get things started with your morning Sift, shall we?

A- Believe it or not, the rainiest part of South Florida's wet season has ended, and Go Hydrology! shows us how we did.

The start of the wet season tends to be the rainiest because the summer pop up showers are enhanced by lingering atmospheric instability in the upper atmosphere from the Continental Spring. Once the Bermuda High moves into place by mid June, south Florida rains drop into a bit of a mid summer lull.

C- Bark Bark Woof Woof opines on Chick-Fil-A's anti-gay stance and explains his reaction towards it.

It's their money, their company, and they can do what they like. Far be it from me to impose my beliefs on them. And far be it from me to insult them or embarrass them by giving them any of my money or coming into one of their stores. It would be very un-Quakerly and presumptuous to force them to put up with me and my business.

E- Eye on Miami explains why Rubio is no longer being considered for the Vice President slot.

There are many reasons for Mitt Romney to cross Rubio off his list, and some of them had to have been clear to Romney from the first. Like bringing the Jeb Bush wing of the Republican party into the forefront of the campaign. Jeb Bush attracts GOP extremists like filings to a magnet. That is not going to work in a general election. The Bush/Rubio voters are the "decideds". They don't help Romney at all with swing voters.
