The poll has closed and the winner of the SFDB Post of the Year for 2008, with 385 total votes cast, is Blast Off's My Date With Debbie. I want to congratulate Sinfonian on this recognition and the fine effort that he put into this post. Ambush interviewing a U.S. Representative in a parking lot is not a job for the faint of heart, and Blast Off! proved its mettle in pulling it off.
Although this is Blast Off's post, I wanted to add that the field of nominees in this year's competition was extraordinary. I think it speaks volumes to the quality of the posting in the South Florida blogosphere as a whole. I hope that at some point, you've taken the time to read the posts of all the nominees to see for yourselves what a great group of talented bloggers we have posting in South Florida.
It was a good year. But I'm looking forward to even bigger and better things in 2009.

Rick, what you do is, in short, indispensable to south Florida in general, let alone the area blogosphere. Thank you for providing this clearinghouse for all of our opinions, wordy, raunchy, reflective, or otherwise.

It's clear from the results that Carlos Miller and Blast Off were able to spam all their friends in an effort to steal the election.
I read Blast Off's "winning" post and wanted to gouge my eyes out with a cocktail fork. Ponderous and boring are two words that come to mind after reading that drivel.
If that's the best of the So Fla blogosphere then we're in deep doo-doo!
